A physical examination procedure test in which the patient’s head is rotated sideways and extended backwards, while gentle compression is applied to the top of the head. The test is used to determine if neural foraminal narrowing is compressing the exiting spinal nerve. A positive test involves pain, numbness, or paresthesia extending into the arm below the elbow.
