A legal doctrine that makes each of the parties who are responsible for an injury responsible for all the damages awarded in a lawsuit so that the plaintiff can obtain the full monies awarded even if one of the at fault parties cannot pay. In a Washington state personal injury case, this has been limited by Washington law, and only applies where the injured person was completely without fault or responsibility for their own injuries and damages.
