Betsylew R. Miale-Gix Competes in World Boomerang Championships

Adler Giersch ps partner Betsylew R. Miale-Gix recently returned from the World Boomerang Championships in Rome, Italy where she threw for Team USA. USA 1( Rad Revolution) won the 20 team, three day tournament and her squad, USA 2( il Sindicato XLIII) finished 4th.

Whiplash, Spinal Trauma and the Personal Injury Case Seminar

On March 27, 2010 Adler Giersch held its 20th Annual Whiplash, Spinal Trauma, and Personal Injury Case seminar.  Featured speakers included Richard H. Adler and internationally recognized chiropractor Daniel J. Murphy, DC, DABCO.  The event was well attended with just over 120 healthcare providers from Washington, Oregon, and Montana. 

This photo was taken after 7 of the 8 extremely intense, emotionally and intellectually challenging sessions of the Psychodrama Skills for Trial Lawyers module of the Trial Lawyers College regional seminar program. The program ran from October 15 through October 18, 2009 at the Mohican Resort at the Mohican State Park in Perrysville Ohio. There were lawyers from all over the country in attendance.

Richard H. Adler was invited to present to the North Cascade Chapter of the Washington State Chiropractic Association on September 29, 2009.  The seminar was an all day event at the Wenatchee Convention Center.  There were a total of 50 chiropractors at the event. 

Gary Shipe of Sandusky Radio interviewed Richard H. Adler on September 13, 2009.  Mr. Adler was interviewed for his work with The Brain Injury Association of Washington as the former President of the Board.  He now serves as the Chair of the Executive Committee.

Brain Injury can run the gamut from concussion to coma. Those living with Brain Injury have to find new ways to get through daily life; simple things taken for granted by the rest of us can be huge new hurdles for some. Discussed is the recently passed Lystedt Law (largely driven by the BIAWA) and its impact on youth sports safety.

The Brain Injury Association of Washington (BIAWA) is hosting the 3rd Annual BIAWA Gala Dinner and Benefit Auction on November 14, 2009 at the Grand Hyatt in Seattle.  The Gala serves as the major source of funding for the BIAWA. Betsylew Miale-Gix recently returned from throwing in the United States Boomerang Association National Championships Delaware Ohio August 22-23, 2009.  Ms. Miale-Gix won two of the six events – Fast Catch and Endurance – and finished 10th overall. She also participated with 5 other USA boomerang team members in a demonstration for hundreds of spectators prior to a polo match adjacent to the tournament site.

July 30, 2009 Betsylew R. Miale-Gix served as Co-Chairperson to the Washington State Association for Justice (WSAJ) 2009 Annual Convention and Boomerang Competition. Also in the photo,  John Budlong, the current WSAJ President.

February 25, 2009 - Betsylew R. Miale-Gix presented "Ethics – Confidentiality and Conflicts of Interest" at the PI Basics & More: A Seminar for Paralegals and Young Lawyers. The seminar was presented by the Washington State Association for Justice Legal Education Seminars at the Washington State Convention Center.

February 18, 2009 - Richard H. Adler presented to rehabilitation specialists and healthcare providers at Northwest Hospital on behalf of the Brain Injury Association of Washington. Mr. Adler answered questions on insurance and treatment options for survivors of mild traumatic brain injury.

January 29-30, 2009 - Betsylew R. Miale-Gix presented a talk on "Electronic PIP/UIM Waiver: Are Electronic Signatures Valid as Signed or Written Waivers?" at the Washington State Association for Justice’s Annual Insurance Seminar in both Spokane and Seattle.

On November 21, 2008 Betsylew R. Miale-Gix presented at a conference entitled MEDICINE FOR LAWYERS III - CHRONIC PAIN Understanding the Medicine, Trying the Case sponsored by the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association.  Mrs. Miale-Gix's presentation focused on Building the Case for General Damages Through Lay and Expert Witnesses.

On May 1, 2008, Richard H. Adler received the American Massage Therapy Association of Washington's (AMTA-WA) President's Award at the opening ceremony of their annual conference. The presentation was during the opening ceremony. The President's Award is the AMTA-WA's highest award and reserved for those who have advanced the cause of massage therapy statewide. Mr. Adler was recognized as a skilled advocate and educator in the massage therapist community.  The award was presented by Tianne Carrigan, current AMTA President, in a packed room of massage therapist.

The 2009 Whiplash, Spinal Trauma, and the Personal Injury Case Seminar was well regarded by the attendees.  The Event took place at that Bellevue Club Hotel in Bellevue, Washington.  There were 120 attendees who participated in the event from 7:00am - 7:00pm.  Richard H. Adler and Daniel J. Murphy, DC, DABCO, presented 11 presentations.
