The Brain Injury Association of Washington has announced the tagline for this year's Brain Injury Awareness Month: "A concussion is a brain injury. Get the facts."
The focus is to get legislation, similar to Washington State's Zackery Lystedt Law, passed in all state. Legislation would require youth athletes to have medical clearance before returning to play after a concussion. Subsequently, this type of legislation will educate coaches, parents, youth athletes, private sporting organization and many others the dangers of concussion in youth sports.
