BETSYLEW R. MIALE-GIXreceived degrees in History and Political Science from UCLA followed by a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Washington School of Law in 1984. From 1984 to 1996 she practiced general civil litigation and personal  injury law, with periods doing defense as well as plaintiff's work.  Since joining Adler Giersch PS in 1996, Ms. Miale-Gix has devoted her experience, expertise and knowledge to representing persons significantly injured by the wrongful acts of others.  She is a principal of Adler Giersch PS and the firm's litigation specialist.

Ms. Miale-Gix has contributed articles to the publication "The Advocate", and was co-editor of the educational pamphlet "Common Legal Terms in a Personal Injury Case" and manages the Adler Giersch websites. She has spoken at several legal seminars on issues of law and practice, including topics ranging from Voir Dire in a Traumatic Brain Injury case to HIPAA, Presentation of Damages at Trial, Personal Injury Protection Issues, and Colossus, among others. Ms. Miale-Gix was responsible for new case law extending UIM/UM coverage in Washington State to include Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as a physical injury in the seminal case of Trinh v. Allstate.

Ms. Miale-Gix is an active Eagle member of the Washington State Trial Lawyers Association, serving on the Board of Governors, as well as the Development and Legislative committees. Other professional associations include the American Association for Justice, Washington State and Snohomish County Bar Associations, and the American Association of University Women.

Ms. Miale-Gix also serves as counsel to, and as an officer of, the non-profit United States Boomerang Association. She is a competitive boomerang thrower and has been the only female member of five USA Boomerang Teams competing at World Team Cup Tournaments from 1998 through 2006. She is also an amateur photographer, hiker, bird watcher and Mariner baseball fan.
